Hello Homeowner,

It looks like PG&E may have forced you to live through a power outage. Had enough?

Are you ready to consider a permanent solution to this problem?

We’re not talking about living by candlelight for days and days.

We’re not talking about spending thousands on a gas-powered generator for the next time PG&E fails to provide electricity for you and your loved ones.

We’re talking about solar power systems with a home backup battery.

PG&E Admits Power Shutoffs Are Here To Stay Until at Least 2029

That’s what then-CEO Johnson said at an emergency meeting of the California Public Utilities Commission in October 2019. Many California residents had already been through multiple power shutoff events that year.

Residents were outraged after PG&E shut off power to more than 700,000 homes in response to the possibility of wildfires with dry and windy conditions. Some experienced no power for up to five days.

Can’t wait a decade for a fix to this problem? Here’s what you can do now to protect your family from an uncertain and potentially dangerous future.

It's Time To Dump PG&E TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR POWER TODAY
When the grid goes down, strong storms come through or power outages strike, a home battery storage system can keep your lights on and your fridge cold without any upkeep, fuel or noise. When you pair it with a SunPower solar system, it can recharge with sunlight to keep your appliances and more running for days.

The Full Cost of Power Outages

Not only is losing power stressful, it’s expensive!

A recent survey found that almost 70 percent of Americans who experienced a power outage of just 12 hours or more in the last two years faced unexpected expenses as a result. You could be spending $3,426 per power outage, on average.

The costs add up:

  • Full Cost
    • Spoiled food - $160
    • Taking time off of work to deal with power outage - $600 in lost wages
    • Moving into a hotel - $750 total for two rooms and three nights, with an average hotel room cost of $125/night in CA
    • Power outage-related property damage (fried electronics, burst pipes, flooded basement) - $1,916 (can be anywhere from $1000-$2000)

Sources: U.S. Census Bureau, tripadvisor.com, homeadvisor.com, The Chicago Tribune

And that’s just for things that are easy to measure. For instance, you may need to buy a WiFi hotspot to connect to the internet for work, or replace medical equipment that was damaged during an outage.

And if you don’t already have a gas generator, add another $7,500-$15,000 on top of that.

Still Not Convinced That California Has A Problem?
  • The United States has more power outages than any other developed country.
  • California faced its largest power-outages in history in 2020, a trend that is projected to increase.
  • Natural disasters like wildfires, earthquakes, and tornadoes account for between 18 and 33 billion in damages to homes in the U.S. per year.

Your 2020 PG&E Bill is 25.9% Higher

Than it Was in 2010

As if you needed yet another reason to go solar, the price of electricity in California is rising, and has been for a decade.

The California Globe reports that the average 2020 annual residential electricity bill was 25.9% higher than in 2010. According to leading climate and energy researchers, this trend shows no signs of slowing down.

You Have Three Choices to Protect Your Family

From 10+ Years of Additional Power Outages:

  1. Hope for the best from PG&E, a hedge fund-owned corporation that is currently paying out hundreds of millions of dollars in bankruptcy court.
  2. Buy a gas generator, which will power some appliances and charge your phone, but will not run your heat or AC.
  3. Power your home to be self-sufficient with a solar and home battery system.

A 2019 Zillow study found homes with solar sell for 4.1% more based on an estimated value X.

Another study by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) found that homes with solar sold for 20% faster, for 17% more than the equivalent non-solar homes, across several subdivisions built by different California builders.

Not only can solar save you money on your power bill and control your power cost, it can also be a huge value-add if at some point you decide to sell your home.

What May Be Worth 4.1% More After Going Solar?

That would be your home! Just like you may be willing to pay thousands of dollars for renovations like a new kitchen or finished basement, you need to evaluate the return on investment from solar energy.
